Our Story: Built on Belief, Resilience and Care

That Pet Cure began in 2017 with a simple belief: people deserved better access to thoughtfully made hemp products for the animals they love.

As a family-owned business from Brooklyn, we became an early pioneer in creating CBD oil specifically for parrots—an area of pet wellness that few companies were exploring at the time. Our work soon expanded to include carefully formulated products for dogs, cats and people.

From the beginning, this business has been personal. We saw firsthand how much pet owners cared about finding natural ways to support calm, comfort and everyday wellness. That inspired us to keep learning, improving and creating products with the same care we would expect for our own families.

A Challenge That Changed Everything

In 2019, our business faced a devastating setback when authorities seized a shipment of legal, federally compliant hemp from Vermont. The owner of That Pet Cure spent 33 hours in custody and faced six felony charges connected to a product that was legal under federal law.

The experience placed an enormous strain on the company and brought years of hard work nearly to a halt. Walking away would have been understandable—but giving up was never the plan.

After clearing his name, the owner remained committed to the business, the hemp industry and the customers who had supported That Pet Cure from the beginning.

Coming Back Stronger

That Pet Cure returned with an even greater focus on quality, transparency and careful production.

Today, we prepare our products by hand and work with independent laboratories to verify potency and screen for pesticides, heavy metals and other unwanted substances. Customers can review available testing directly on our Lab Reports page.
